Not everyone like Greece’s various months, and they are not all equal. While the seasons in this country frequently blend due to the lack of distinct shoulder seasons and the abundance of mild winter days, there are distinguishing characteristics associated with each month that can influence your holiday experience.

High season (June-July-August)
The beginning of the Greek summer season is marked by a slight increase in temperature in June. Because it is the height of the summer season, there is a lot of traffic, especially in well-known locations like Halkidiki, Mykonos, Santorini, and Rhodes. During this period, everything is more pricey and boats and other facilities are frequently reserved in advance. Also, it’s important to remember that Greece experiences very heated weather in July and August, with average highs in the 30s and 40s!
The summer is the ideal time to rent a boat if you enjoy partying. If this is the case, you should think about travelling to Halkidiki or the Greek islands between the middle of June and the end of August, when both the nightlife and beaches are buzzing.
Autumn (September-October-November)
Another wonderful month to travel to Greece is September. Particularly in late September, it is less busy than in the summer, and there is still a lot of sunshine. The ideal time of year is now since it is still quite sunny but not unbearably hot, there is little danger of precipitation, and the air is not as oppressively thick as it is during the summer.
A fantastic time to explore Greece is early October. With an average temperature of 22oC, the weather is still fairly comfortable. Rainfall has a greater likelihood of occurring. The islands are great for exploring in peace because they are not overpopulated, which is the most crucial factor. When the mercury lowers to an average of 20oC in November, the country enters its low season. This month might not be the best for renting a boat or spending a full day outside due to the increased likelihood of rain and thunderstorms.
Winter (December-January-February)
Winter months may not be the best time to sail around Greece due to the average temperature of 14oC. Expect not to have fun onboard because of the heavy rain and the greater chance of thunderstorms.
Athens, the “cradle of Western civilisation,” is the ideal place to visit at this time to see the unique city life. It is the ideal place to liven up your winter months with its magnificent Acropolis, renowned museums, breathtaking architecture from throughout history, chic cafe and bar culture, and Michelin-starred cuisine.
Springtime (March-April-May)
In Greece, spring officially arrives in March. The temperature rises to an average high of 16 C as everything awakens. The temperature rarely falls below 12C and reaches a comfortable 20C in April. Remember, though, that these two months are still quite rainy. There is more sunshine and less rain as April draws to a close. As was already noted, May is when the Greek sun begins to shine. 24°C is the usual maximum temperature, and there is hardly any rain. Despite the pleasant weather, the sea is still very chilly at this time. So don’t anticipate doing much swimming while being out on the water with your boat.
